Hours: Thursday-Sunday, shift times will vary according to tournaments; mandatory overtime required.

Drive and operate light to heavy size equipment such as finish mowers, small utility vehicles, skid loader, heavy loader, various size dump trucks, backhoe, and equipment related to ball field maintenance. Participate in ball field maintenance contributing to the comfort, convenience, health, and/or safety of the ball field complex. The incumbent will receive work direction from assigned supervisors. Participate in infield skin management by deep watering, maintaining surface grade, raking and sweeping dips, nail and mat dragging, chalking baselines, painting foul lines, setting of bases to correct distance, home plate template proper size, and preparing fields for tournaments on weekends. Maintain the appearance and safety of facilities by cleaning restrooms/office and report need for repairs. Perform daily maintenance on assigned equipment and report need for repairs. Participate in special events. Assist with coordination of work crews and their supervision. Perform other related duties as assigned. Follow city and departmental policies and procedures. Successful candidate may be exposed to extreme heat, cold, rain, humidity, wetness, hazardous chemicals, insects, dust, poisonous plants, unpleasant smells, fumes, traffic hazards, and physical stress from exertion.

REQUIRED:

Drivers License: Must be able to obtain Class B CDL with airbrakes within 3 months from date of hire.
Education: Level of knowledge equivalent to less than high school or equivalency. Must have the ability to read.
Experience: Two years experience operating light or heavy equipment is required.
Certifications: No certifications required.
Testing: No testing required.
Physical Demands: Medium

DESIRED: TDA Chemical License and CDL Tanker Endorsement are desired.
