Description:
Heart of Texas Regional Advisory Council (HOTRAC) is partnering with Prevent Child Abuse Texas and hosting its first Heart of Texas Walk for Children. Thousands of children are victims of child abuse in Texas every year and HOTRAC wants to bring awareness to the cause. Child Abuse is 100% preventable and it is our goal to raise awareness in the Region. Everyone is invited to participate in this event. At the event families with children, seniors, and others will participate in a 5K walk to support safe, happy and healthy children. This fun family event will be a chance to alert all people in Texas of the importance of commitment to child abuse prevention. Proceeds will benefit the expansion of child abuse prevention programs. There is a $25 registration fee for walkers 12 years and older and $10 registration for under 12. Fundraising is encouraged for participants but not required. Businesses are invited to become a sponsor and will receive special recognition at the event. Commemorative T-shirts will be given to all participants that register prior to the walk. For those participants registering the day of the walk, T-shirt sizes are not guaranteed. For more information please contact, Miranda Traylor @254-202-8743 or mtraylor@hotrac.org
