Tribute to Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys Starring Mikki Daniel & Texas Wildfire

A TRIBUTE TO BOB WILLS AND HIS TEXAS PLAYBOYS STARRING MIKKI DANIEL & TEXAS WILDFIRE, debuts their national touring show in Waco Texas at the Waco Hippodrome for one show only Friday, March 10th 2017 at 7:00 PM. A TRIBUTE TO BOB WILLS AND HIS TEXAS PLAYBOYS STARRING MIKKI DANIEL & TEXAS WILDFIRE is a full two-hour concert jam packed with western swing and western music by the multiple award winning Mikki Daniel and her band Texas Wildfire. At age 20, Mikki has lived all her life on a small ranch in Texas and is a true cowgirl from the tips of her bull--hide cowboy boots to the top of her worn out, felt cowboy hat. Her young resume includes singing, playing multiple instruments, songwriting, writing historical fiction novels and horse training. At the young age of five, Mikki’s musical training began with piano lessons and watching those silver screen cowboys (including Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Tex Ritter, and Rex Allen, among others.) By the time she was 10 she could sing every song she ever watched in all those movies and was asking for her first guitar. By eleven, she got her first horse to train and promptly named her Trigger. Her favorite activities now are playing and singing music, riding her horses Trigger, Sissy and Whinny, ranching, training horses, writing, and hunting. Mikki was quickly swept into the fascinating world of American cowboy--style yodeling at 11 when she met “The Yodeling Queen” Janet McBride, who invited her to join The Cowtown Opry Buckaroo Club where she could sing weekly with the organization which was dedicated to preserving, promoting and performing cowboy, western heritage and western swing music (the Official Music of Texas!). Mentored by Janet and Devon Dawson, Mikki began to work on the fine art of performance and develop her strong rhythm guitar skills needed for her new love of Western Swing. At this young age, Mikki began delighting audiences across the DFW Metroplex and then the State of Texas. Her love of the music

Baylor University Theatre Presents: The Amish Project

Written in the wake of the 2006 school shootings in the Amish community of Nickel Mines, Pennsylvania, The Amish Project is a fictional exploration of real-life tragedy and the path of forgiveness forged in its wake. Hailed by The New York Times as “extraordinary,” and Chicago Theatre Beat as “unique, uplifting, and unforgettable,” The Amish Project is a devastating and beautiful piece of theatre that compels us to question our notions of suffering, compassion, and forgiveness.
