About the Friends of the Library

The mission of the Friends of the Waco-McLennan County Library is to improve the quality of life in our community through support of the Waco-McLennan County library system. This includes support for public libraries in Waco, McGregor, West, Moody, Hewitt and Mart.

The major source of funds for the Friends is the annual book sale in November, which typically features 100,000 used books for sale to the public. The profits from this sale, along with membership dues, gifts and other income, are spent on enhancements to the libraries including new books, equipment, youth and summer programs and library staff enrichment opportunities.
