Holiday Closing Hours
The Waco-McLennan County Library will be Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 24 and 25, 2013 for the Christmas Holiday. Normal hours will resume Thursday, Dec 26.
We will close on Tuesday Dec 31 at 5:00 pm for the New Year and be closed January 1, 2014. Normal hours will resume on Thursday, January 2.
Affordable Healthcare Act Resources
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), commonly called “Obamacare” or the Affordable Care Act (ACA), is a federal statute signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010.
One requirement of the law, the individual mandate to carry health insurance, goes into effect on January 1, 2014.
The information and links below are provided by the library to assist the public in finding and selecting a health plan through the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace. Enrollment through the marketplace begins on October 1, 2013.

Consumer Reports, November 2013 issue offers a step-by-step overview based on your insurance needs (for example, do you get insurance through work, or buy your own insurance, or are you are on Medicare?). Consumer Reports has a new web tool available at www.healthlawhelper.org or www.aseguratusalud.org .
AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) provides online help at www.healthlawanswers.org.
