Residential Recycling

The Program:  The City of Waco offers recycling as part of its service to residential customers.  Recycling is “single-stream” (also known as “commingled”), which means that a variety of materials besides paper can all go into the recycling container.  The list below shows all of the items that can be recycled.  Be sure to look for our new, split-load trucks – they service your route more efficiently and economically!

Single-Family Homes: Residents of single-family homes can pick up a recycling container by visiting the Solid Waste Administrative Offices, 501 Schroeder. Please bring a driver’s license and a vehicle large enough to accommodate the container, which is 46” high, 27.5” deep, and 31” wide. (A pickup truck is usually fine.)  If you already have a smaller curbside recycling container, you can exchange it for a larger one. For more information, call the Solid Waste offices at (254) 299-2612.

Apartments:  Residential Multi-Unit Complexes may also have recycling services, provided the property management has requested the service.  If you are a tenant, please talk to your landlord about the possibility of starting recycling.  If you are a property manager, please call (254) 751-8538 to learn more about how we can provide this free service to your site.
