City Landfill
The City of Waco operates a Type I landfill that receives approximately 170,000 tons of waste per year. As of October 1, 2005, Tipping fees will be $27.28 per ton. The landfill provides disposal service to approximately 135,000 people, mostly from Waco, Woodway, Hewitt, and McGregor. The expected remaining life of the landfill is 27-30 years.
Waco Residents

May make up to two self-haul and disposal trips free of charge with a total of 1 ton (2,000 lbs.) per month.

Must have a current utility bill with garbage service for free disposal.

Address on utility bill and driver's license must match.

Amounts in excess of 1 ton (2,000 lbs.) may be disposed of at $27.28 per ton.

Payment must be made at the time of disposal.

Location: The landfill is located at 11400 Old McGregor Road. Take Highway 84 west, towards McGregor. Turn left at the Wickson Road exit. Bear right, following the landfill signs.
Hours: The Landfill is open 8 am -4:30 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am-11:30am Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays and the following City Holidays:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. The landfill will be open on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and on the Friday following Thanksgiving Day.
