Fleet Services

Mission Statement: To be the central vehicle and equipment management group for internal customers and the citizens of Waco.

Fleet Services performs repairs and preventive maintenance services on cars, trucks and heavy equipment. Tire repair services is provided, as well as 24 hour fueling services. Approximately 1,500 work orders are processed per month. Warranty activities are coordinated and contracted, and repair service activities arranged. Fleet Services is responsible for ordering, maintaining and accounting for all parts and commodities utilized in daily activities; a monthly warehouse inventory of approximately $80,000.00 is maintained. User departments are provided with management information.

Fleet Services receives its funding through vehicle maintenance and gas/diesel sales to user departments throughout the City. Fleet Service's strategic partnerships are with any department that is assigned rolling stock. Keeping competitive labor rates and flat Preventative Maintenance rate builds a customer service atmosphere. This also encourages our technicians to utilize the diagnostics and certification required to be regarded as a highly respected team of Fleet professionals.

Fleet technicians are ASE certified. "The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, ASE, was founded in 1972 as an independent, non-profit organization with a single mission: To improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive technicians."
