Park Rangers

park ranger on horseThe Park Rangers serve the community by providing safety at the parks and educating residents about the local environment.

Their duties include patrolling the parks, securing special events, trail maintenance, interpreting the environment and the Park Ranger Horse Patrol. The rangers oversee Cameron Park, the Brazos River Corridor and all neighborhood parks. Patrolling is done by a variety of means such as hiking, driving, mountain biking and horseback riding.

Environmental Programs

Working with local schools and organizations like the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the park rangers provide numerous environmental and historical programs.

Rangers also promote outdoor recreation through guided tours and exercise sessions in Cameron Park. To schedule a presentation or a tour, call (254) 750-8057.

Rules and Regulations

  • Parks are open 6 a.m. to midnight
  • Keep pets confined on a leash.
  • Ride horses on bridle paths only.
  • Extinguish fires.
  • Keep the park clean- trash barrels are provided throughout the park.
  • No overnight camping
  • No Solicitation
  • No Dumping
  • No loudspeakers and/or amplifiers
  • Cameron Park visitors are prohibited from going beyond the walls of the cliffs.
  • No harming or removing of wildlife, trees, and plants- living or dead.
  • No fires outside of designated areas.
  • No parking or driving on grass
