Are there any fun events coming up?

Summer Teen Volunteer Performance Group

Plan, prepare, and present a puppet show and play with teen volunteers at your local libraries. Players, creators, and teenagers are needed at the library on Tuesdays in June and July from 2:00 to 4:00 to plan for a fun story performance geared for children.

The stories will be performed through a puppet show and play by the teen volunteers. The teen performances are presented at all four libraries on August 5, 6, 7, and 8.

For more information and to sign up, contact Stacy Phillips at the library at 750-5956.

How can teens express themselves?

Do you love to write? Try Fan Fiction. This is the name given to the stories written by fans of a particular fiction usually that of movies or books. Fan fiction is a channel for creative writing within a predefined setting, a way to share ideas with other fans, a means to explore facets of popular characters that the author feels have been underplayed. Investigate Fanfiction.net

Read reviews of Young Adult fiction written by local teens, and write your own review.

Teen Ink

Teen Ink is a monthly print magazine, website, and book series: all written by teens for teens. There are over 16,000 pages of student writing on this site.

Send Teen Ink your work - have an opinion on something? Write it up and send it in! Send reviews - good or bad, of colleges you visit, movies you see, or whatever!

Curious? Come look through a copy in the Teen Scene area at the Library.
