Younger Students:

Ebsco Encyclopedia of Animals:
This extensive database provides students with thousands of easy-to-read entries about mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, dinosaurs and prehistoric animals. Many entries include colorful images.

eLibrary Curriculum:
Designed specifically for K-12 schools and libraries. Students find the answers they need from full-text magazines, newspapers, reference books, and transcripts - plus thousands of pictures, maps, and more.

Kids Search Interface:
A bright, colorful, picture-based search method helps younger searchers and readers (K-8 grade) find articles, chapters from books and other materials that are appropriate for their needs.

Primary Search:
Provides full text for popular, magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles).

Older Students:

Academic Search Premier:
Contains full text coverage in biology, chemistry, engineering, literature, physics, psychology, religion & theology, etc. A good upper HS and College level research tool.

Learnatest:
Take practice tests - ranging from 4th grade skills to GED and THEA, fire and paramedic, real estate and more. Create your personal account using your library card number as your username.

MAS Ultra School Edition:
Designed specifically for high school libraries. MAS Ultra - School Edition also provides pamphlets, full text reference books, biographies, primary source documents, and an Image Collection of photos, maps and flags.

Middlesearch Plus:
Provides full text for popular magazines for middle and jr. high school research. All articles are marked with reading levels. Middle Search Plus also contains biographies, primary source documents, and an Image Collection of photos, maps and flags.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center:
This database is aimed at the middle school to lower college level student researching social issues topics. Position papers, essays, journal articles, primary source documents, podcasts and more on topics such as media violence, prayer in schools and abortion are to be found here. Reading levels are marked for many resources.

Salem Press History
Incorporates two resources - Milestone Documents in American History, and "The Eighties in America". Milestone documents includes many primary source documents, speeches, essays, and much more. "The Eighties in America" is a resource documenting life in the US in the 1980's. It is suitable for a general audience from middle school to adults.

Student Research Center Interface:
A search interface designed specifically for students in grades 6-12. It makes it easy for students to search by keyword or by topic to find the most useful search results. Results can be easily sorted by source type - -magazines, reference books, photos, flags, etc.

Texas Reference Center:
Texas Reference Center includes full text journals and books about Texas history, ethnic & cultural diversity, gender studies, literature, public health, business as well as home & garden and sports & leisure. The database contains biographies portraying famous historical and contemporary Texans. Also available is the Spanish-language newspaper El Sol de Texas with Texas and national news coverage.

Topicsearch:
This current events database allows researchers to explore social, political & economic issues, scientific discoveries and other popular topics discussed in today's classrooms.

World History Collection:
Offers a global look at history with content from Africa, Asia, North and South America, Europe and the Middle East. World History Collection contains cover-to-cover full text for all its reference sources.

Teachers:

Eric:
Educational Resource Information Center contains article digests along with references for additional information and citations and abstracts from educational and education-related journals.

Professional Development Collection:
Designed for professional educators, this database provides a highly specialized collection of high quality education journals, including many peer-reviewed titles. This database also contains educational reports.

Teacher Reference Center:
Is an index of titles from the most popular teacher and administrator trade journals, periodicals, and books. This database provides coverage on key education topics such as Assessment, Continuing Education, Current Pedagogical Research, Curriculum Development, Instructional Media, Language Arts, Literacy Standards, Science & Mathematics, and more for K-12 Teachers & Librarians.
