TexShare Library Card

Circulation
Check
Out & Renewal of Library Materials
Bring your library card with you to the library
to check out library materials. The circulation desk at
all libraries closes 15 minutes before closing. Library
materials can be returned at any of our library locations.
Loan
Periods
- Videos/DVD's -7 days, no renewal
- Books- 3 weeks
- Audio Cassettes- 3 weeks
- Compact Disks- 3 weeks
**Adults and children may borrow one item
the first time they use their library cards.
**Adults and children may enjoy unrestricted borrowing privileges
after the first time use.

Carry the Card
Beginning October 1, 2004, all library users will
need to present their library card each time to check-out materials.
This is to assure that items are checked out to the proper account.
If you have misplaced or lost your library card, staff can issue
you a new card for a fee of $1. Thank you in advance for your
cooperation as we strive to serve you better!
What
Can be Renewed & How
-
Books, Cassettes, and CDs may be renewed one
time in person during library hours or online or by telephone
24 hours a day.

Videos and DVD's may not be renewed (as of
June 1, 2004).
-
Overdue materials may not be renewed over
the telephone or online.
-
Overdue materials may be renewed only after
the fine is paid.
-
If an item is on hold for another patron,
it may not be renewed.

To renew in person, visit one of the four
Waco-McLennan County Libraries; be sure to bring your library
card with you.

To renew online, click on patron account on
the library's homepage and enter your library card number
- available 24 hours a day.

To renew by telephone, dial 750-1681 and enter
your library card number when prompted - available 24 hours
a day.

Borrowing privileges will be suspended for
patrons with unpaid library charges or overdue materials.

Getting
Your Free Library Card

Texas Residents may fill out an application
for a library card at any of the four libraries in the Waco-McLennan
County Library System.

Applicants must produce a picture I.D. and
proof of residency dated within the last 30 days. An applicant
under 16 years of age needs the signature and identification
of a parent or legal guardian.

New Library Cards will be mailed to applicants.
You may complete a library card application form below and bring
it with your picture ID and proof of residency to any Waco-McLennan
County Library.

Immediately inform Central Circulation Services
at (254) 750-5943 or one of the community libraries if you
lose your card.

You are responsible for all items borrowed
with your card before it is reported stolen or lost.
Changing

Lost

Patrons who have lost or damaged materials will
be charged a total of the following:
- $5.00 plus cost of item for items with cost of under $20.00
- $10.00 plus cost of item for items with cost of $20.00 or
more
Donating
Materials to the Library

The Library accepts donations all year long

Bring books, magazines, record albums, videotapes,
audiobooks, and other materials to any library location

If you have more than three boxes of materials,
contact Central Circulation Services at (254) 750-5943 to
arrange for the transportation of the materials.

TexShare
Library Cards
-
The TexSharecard lets you borrow materials
from other participating libraries in the state of Texas.
-
You must apply for a TexShare card at your
Library and then you may borrow from other participating libraries
according to the rules they have set.
-
You must be a library card holder in good
standing (no overdue or lost books and no library fines) to
get a TexShare card from the Waco-McLennan County Library.
