Waco Bond Election Update
It’s been 40 years since Waco voters have passed a City bond election. Without it we would not have a Convention Center at all which has provided over $270 million into our local economy (in direct, incoming dollars), or a low-water dam that significantly widened the Brazos. That bond also brought three new fire stations, numerous roads and bridges, the Texas Ranger Museum, park improvements and much more.
On May 12, 2007, citizens of Waco approved the six bond propositions listed below totaling $63 million. Due to favorable market pricing and the city's excellent bond and financial reputation, the bonds were purchased at a low 4.615326 percent.
Each of the six projects are accounted for in separate capital project funds. As these projects develop, these designated funds (plus interest earned) will be used exclusively for the bond projects as voted by citizens.
