Neighborhood Park Trails

Construction has begun in numerous parks.  Estimated Completion Date:  Summer 2009.

Oct. 16, 2008

• August 2008: Plans completed
• September 24, 2008: Construction bids opened
• October 21, 2008: Council to consider bid award
• November 2008: Construction to begin

The following parks will receive quarter-mile trails:

• Alta Vista, Buena Vista, Council Acres, Gurley, Mitchell, Viking Hills, Bell’s Hill, Chapel, Crestview, Jaycee and Pioneer
• Trail connections will be made to existing trails at Kendrick and Seley Parks

April 1, 2008:  Schematic Plans presented to City Council
March 5, 2008: Concepts presented at Public Meeting
May 12, 2007:  Voters approve $11.7 for Park Improvements

Project Description

Improvements to neighborhood pedestrian and bike trails will be taking place throughout the City of Waco.  As a result of the bond election, $900,000 in new and improved trails systems will be added in 14 parks.

• One-third mile trail will be added at Trail Blazer Park in west Waco near Harris Creek Road.

The following parks will receive quarter-mile trails:

• Alta Vista, Buena Vista, Council Acres, Gurley, Mitchell, Viking Hills, Bell’s Hill, Chapel, Crestview, Jaycee and Pioneer
• Trail connections will be made to existing trails at Kendrick and Seley Parks
