Project Description
Thanks to the 2007 bond election, $6.9 million was provided for Cameron Park to protect, preserve and improve one of Waco’s natural treasures. The goal is to have the project complete by 2010 for Cameron Park’s Centennial Celebration.
From the bond money, areas throughout the 400-acre Cameron Park will see renovations and improvements such as:
- Pavilions and restrooms
- Historical features
- Parking lots
- Lighting and signage
- Trail connections
Construction will take place from Fall 2008 to Spring 2010 in the following areas:
- Anniversary Park
- Cameron Park Clubhouse
- Circle Point
- Disc Golf Course
- Emmon’s Cliff
- Jacob’s Ladder
- Lover’s Leap
- Mouth of the Bosque
- Pecan Bottoms
- Proctor Springs
- Redwood Shelter
- Rock Shelter
Many areas will be closed to the public during the next two years. Sections of the trails and the disc golf course will also be closed due to construction. Areas throughout the park not impacted by construction will be open for visitors to enjoy.
Please excuse the inconvenience during construction.
