Project Description
Cameron Park East, located at 2000 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., is a 62-plus acre park that provides stunning views of limestone cliffs, river access and an ideal location for special events. $2.1 million of the park improvement money will update the infrastructure and create a more natural setting.
An additional $500,000 was secured from a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department grant. This money will fund boat ramp and access improvements at the north end of the park.
From the bond money, planned updates include:
- New entry-way and road system
- Pavilions and restrooms
- Parking lots
- Lighting and signage
- Electricity and water upgrades
- Trail connections
Construction will take place from Fall 2008 to Spring 2010. Cameron Park East will be closed to the public during this time.
