About Adoption at the Central Texas Humane Society:

Adoption fee: $50

The fee covers: the animal's spay/neuter, their microchip, their rabies vaccination, the vaccinations they received while being at the shelter, & a 30 day trial of pet insurance.

Verify with your landlord that there are no breeds or weight or other restrictions. Also check to see if there are any pet deposits that need to be paid.

Have Other Pets?

We do require a "meet & greet". This ensures an easier transition for everyone!

Adopting a Cat?

Since some of our cats are already altered and can leave the same day, please bring a cat carrier if you do not have one, or you may purchase a cat box for $6.50 at the front desk.

Adopting a Kitten?

Cats under a year old cannot be adopted as "outside only cats". We do have a Barn Cat Program available if you want an outdoor kitty.

After You Adopt

Visiting a veterinarian regularly is important to the health and well being of your pet.  See our map of available vets in the area.
