The Waco Fire Department inflatable fire safety house is a 22 x 17 foot blow up house made by Inflatable Images. The Fire Department took delivery of it in February 2010 with the help of the FEMA Fire Prevention grant.
Public Education uses the inflatable fire safety house to help educate the Waco citizens of all ages about E.D.I.T.H. (Exit Drill In The Home.)
The safety house helps families see an exit drill in real-life and to practice it like they would at home. With equipment inside, we can fill the house with artificial smoke.
The artificial smoke shows kids why it is important to crawl low and go (low below the smoke and go to a designated meeting spot), as well as making sure everyone in the house is accounted for.
